Eichler Homes – One of the Many Hidden Gems in the Conejo Valley

The Conejo Valley includes the communities of Agoura Hills, Oak Park, Westlake Village, Thousand Oaks (one of the safest cities in the country!) and Newbury Park. What you may not know is that, in addition to being home to nationally recognized schools, great coastal climate, and beautiful hiking trails, the Conejo Valley also includes a small section of homes constructed by California real estate developer Joseph Eichler. Between 1950 and 1974, Eichler’s company built over 11,000 homes in both Northern and Southern California, including a small handful right here in Thousand Oaks!

The exterior of Eichler homes feature flat and/or low-sloping A-Framed roofs, and a signature concept to “Bring the Outside In”. This is achieved via skylights and floor-to-ceiling glass windows looking out on protected and private outdoor rooms, patios, atriums, gardens, and swimming pools. Most Eichler homes feature few, if any, front-facing windows. You can check out the unique design of these rare homes located on Campbell Avenue, Stoddard Avenue, Camino Manzanas, Fordham Avenue, and Ellsworth Circle in the heart of our fabulous city.
